UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – No injuries were reported on Saturday morning when a fire broke out in a two story home just down the street from the Union City fire department.
The fire at 306 John Street which is at the intersection with Hammond Street was reported at about 10:15 a.m..
Union City Police Chief Chris Mathis says the residents and pets got out safely. He adds there was a lot of damage on the inside but quick action by firefighters prevented damage to the structure.
No word yet as to the cause of the fire.
Union City firefighters were assisted the Burlington Fire Department, LifeCare ambulance, and the Union City Police Department.
