COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners formally approved a bid of just over $146,000 from the County Road Commission on Tuesday for the asphalt work at the new Branch County Jail.
County Administrator Bud Norman said there were five bids received with the Road Commission bid being the lowest.
The highest was from Michigan Paving at over $173,000.
Clark Construction which is overseeing the jail construction recommended the contract go to the Road Commission after they reviewed the bids.
Norman was asked during last week’s work session if alternate bids would be submitted for the paving of the other parking lots next to the jail. He said it will be addressed at a later date when the financing can be determined.
