COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Maple Lawn Medical Care and Rehabilitation Facility Administrator Jayne Sabaitis says a second staff member who initially tested positive for COVID-19 last week has had two subsequent negative tests and that all resident test results have come back negative.
She says they will have to test the residents one more time and will continue to test staff members on a weekly basis as required.
Sabaitis said over the weekend in a post on Maple Lawn’s Facebook page that the latest employee to test positive was not part of the nursing staff and had limited contact with residents.
She says it turned out the first employee had a false positive test.
As far as resident visits are concerned, Sabaitis says they are working toward finding a solution but until then, they will still offer window visits, Facetime or Skype. Call the resident’s nurse prior to coming for a window visit so that they can be sure the resident is ready.
