COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – With a new school year starting next Tuesday, it is anticipated there will be heavier than normal traffic in the pick-up and drop-off zones at Coldwater’s public schools along with increased wait times for the dropping off students due to COVID-19.
Coldwater Police plan to have extra patrols in these areas to help alleviate congestion.
An increase in backups will most likely take place on Parkhurst Avenue, Vans Avenue, Green Street and Western Avenue.
Increased foot traffic is also expected at the two staffed crosswalks located on Marshall Street at Liberty and at Grand Street and Liberty.
In light of the new challenges everybody will have to face next week, drivers are being reminded to have a positive attitude and to be patient and cautious in these areas before and after school hours.
