KANSAS CITY, MO (WTVB) – Rookie Brady Singer threw seven innings of three-hit, one-run ball as the Kansas City Royals beat the Detroit Tigers 3-1 in the season finale Sunday afternoon at Kauffman Stadium.
Scott Barlow and Jesse Hahn finished up, with Hahn posting his third save. Adalberto Mondesi went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI for KC, which ends the season 26-and-34.
Tarik Skubal took the loss for Detroit to finish 1-and-4. He allowed two runs on two hits, both homers, while striking out six over five innings.
Brandon Dixon had an RBI double in the first for the Tigers, who lost 19 of their final 25 games to finish last in the AL Central at 23-and-35.
