LANSING (WKZO AM/FM) – Michigan residents who have used all 39 weeks of their unemployment benefits are in line to receive 20 additional weeks of benefits.
According to the state Unemployment Agency, a federal funding program is responsible for the new funding, since Michigan’s unemployment rate was at 8% or above for three consecutive months during the pandemic.
The payment for the additional months will amount to a regular payment, and not the additional money received from the federal government earlier.
