BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – More grim COVID-19 numbers have been reported by the Calhoun County Public Health Department.
They reported two more COVID-19 related deaths on Monday which brought the Calhoun County death toll up to 48. That figure includes four deaths that have been reported just in the past week.
Nearly 200 new COVID-19 cases have been reported in Calhoun County during the last week which brings the total number of cases up to 1,446 with 1,057 released from isolation orders.
The number of confirmed cases requiring hospitalization in Calhoun County has increased to 10.
The recent surge in cases is being blamed by Calhoun County health officials on gatherings such as weddings, funerals and birthday parties where social distancing is not possible.
