DEARBORN, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Gas prices in Michigan fell 5 cents compared to a week ago, according to a statement from AAA.
Michigan drivers are now paying an average of $2.11 per gallon for regular unleaded. This price is the same as this time last month and 60 cents less than this time last year.
Motorists are paying an average of $32 for a full 15-gallon tank of gasoline, a discount of $12 from when prices were their highest last July.
Officials say the decrease may be attributed to less travel.
“Demand is likely to decline as Michigan drivers settle into fall and take fewer road trips,” AAA spokesperson Adrienne Woodland said in a statement.
- Most expensive gas price averages: Marquette ($2.27), Metro Detroit ($2.17), Ann Arbor ($2.14)
- Least expensive gas price averages: Jackson ($1.99), Traverse City ($2.01), Lansing ($2.04)
In Kalamazoo County, drivers are paying an average of $2.00 per unleaded gallon, which is on the lower end of state averages.
