COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The case of a man who has been charged in connection with a shooting incident in Matteson Township last month has been bound over to Branch County Circuit Court.
28-year-old Travis McCann waived his preliminary exam which was scheduled to take place on Tuesday in District Court.
Prosecutors have also dropped a charge of assault with intent to murder.
For now, McCann is facing counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, felony firearm and aggravated stalking.
McCann also had his $100,000 bond revoked when it was determined he tried to contact the alleged victim through a third party which violated one of the terms of his bond.
The Michigan State Police say McCann allegedly fired a weapon in the 900 block of West Colon Road at around midnight on November 11 following a confrontation with the alleged female victim.
No injuries were reported. McCann was arrested a short time later in LaGrange County, Indiana on unrelated charges.
A pre-trial conference in Circuit Court has been scheduled for February 1.
