KINDERHOOK TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A 73-year-old man from Kinderhook Township had to be rescued on Sunday after his boat capsized on Huyck Lake.
Branch County Undersheriff Keith Eichler says deputies were dispatched at 12:09 p.m. to the lake near Harbaugh Drive in reference to someone yelling for help.
When they got there, Deputies found the man was clinging to his capsized boat about 100 yards off shore.
The Lakeland Fire Department, who were also called to the scene, found an unused boat to get to the man and pull him to safety.
He was treated by Lifecare Ambulance personnel, and then taken to ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital.
