COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater Community Schools Superintendent Terry Ann Whelan told the district’s school board on Monday night that as of now they still intend to return to face-to-face learning on January 4.
Other Branch County districts plan to resume in person classes on January 11.
Coldwater Community Schools went to 100 percent Virtual Instruction for all K-12 students on November 30 due to the high rate of COVID-19 cases in Branch County.
Presently, the virtual lessons will continue up to the winter break which starts after classes on Friday.
Whelan said if they have to change the resumption date of in person learning, they can do that at a later time.
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services pause order is in effect until at least December 20 for in person learning. Whelan said she found it hard to believe the state won’t be extending that order.
