EAST LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Michigan State Spartans blew a 31-16 halftime lead on Friday night at the Breslin Center and lost to the Purdue Boilermakers 55-54. The Spartans fell apart after leading by 17 early in the second half.
MSU only shot 22 percent from the floor after halftime and committed 10 second half turnovers. Trevion Williams scored the winning bucket for Purdue with 4.5 seconds left. Aaron Henry’s bank shot at the buzzer would not fall. He led MSU with 13 points and seven rebounds.
The Spartans drop to 8-4 overall and 2-4 in the Big Ten. They play at Iowa on Thursday.
