ALLEN PARK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Detroit Lions have named Brad Holmes as new executive vice president and general manager.
Holmes spent his entire NFL career with the Rams and had been the team’s director of college scouting since 2013. He joined the Rams in 2003 as a public relations intern and has held several different roles within the organization, including national scout and scouting assistant.
During his tenure with the Rams, the team made the playoffs three times, won two NFC West titles and appeared in Super Bowl 53.
Detroit still needs to fill its coaching vacancy, after the firing of Matt Patricia.
Meantime the New York Jets are making Robert Saleh their next head coach. The Dearborn, Michigan native was a popular candidate in coaching circles and had conducted interviews with multiple teams.
New York was in need of a head coach after firing Marshall, Michigan native Adam Gase after two seasons. The Jets also have the second overall pick in the upcoming draft.
