GRAND RAPIDS (WKZO AM/FM) – A rally to urge Governor Whitmer to lift restrictions on restaurants in the state was held Friday in Grand Rapids.
Over 200 people attended the event, called the “Rally 4 Reopening!”, at the DeltaPlex.
Organizers said they wanted to send a clear signal to the Governor that the closure is causing many people to suffer, from owners to workers to patrons, and that she needs to lift the ban as soon as possible.
They emphasized that receiving money for assistance is not what owners want…they need to be open and working again.
Michigan is one of three states in the country that still has a ban on dining indoors.
The ban is in effect until February 1st.
