MACOMB COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Michigan man is wanting his father’s ashes that were in his vehicle returned.
A man named Justin from Macomb County, who didn’t want his last name used, says shortly after midnight Sunday the SUV was stolen from his home with the ashes and everything his dad owned in the vehicle. FOX 17 reports that Justin recently went to Virginia to handle his father’s affairs and when he returned home to Fraser on January 16 with his dad’s Jeep Grand Cherokee, within 45 minutes of leaving the truck in his driveway the vehicle was stolen.
His father, Daniel, died January 2nd and Justin had just received the ashes the day before the theft. Daniel was a retired Navy vet who was at the Pentagon on 9-11.
Justin is offering a $15,000 reward to help locate the vehicle and its contents. His aunt also posted to Facebook hoping the public might spot the stolen vehicle, which has Virginia license plates, along with the memorabilia inside.
