COLDWATER, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Michigan State Police (MSP) Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force is announcing the arrest of 44-year-old Christopher Jackson Fowler, of Coldwater, for possession of child sexually abusive material and computer crimes.
According to officials, the investigation was launched by the Fifth District Computer Crimes Unit when a suspect was found to be downloading a large amount of child sexually abusive material (CSAM).
A search warrant was conducted at Fowler’s residence and digital evidence was seized. Troopers from the MSP Marshall Post, Coldwater Detachment and officers from the Coldwater Police Department assisted with the search warrant.
An arrest warrant was issued for Fowler and he was arrested on January 14, 2021. He has since been charged with Possession of CSAM and Using a Computer to Commit a Felony.
The MSP Computer Crimes Unit is now encouraging parents to speak to their children about the safe use of the internet. There are many resources available to parents to assist in keeping children safe online.
