GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Better Business Bureau of Michigan is warning of a COVID-19 scam targeting seniors. They say seniors are being targeted with robocalls and phishing emails trying to steal personal information and money. The scammers tell them it is they can be given priority access to COVID-19 vaccines.
“Unfortunately, seniors are always a high target for scammers, because they know when they’re home and that they’re going to answer the phone. Sometimes they are a little more trusting. So seniors have to be very careful, especially since they have been identified to be more compromised to COIVD-19.” – Lauren Blankenship with the Better Business Bureau
The BBB says that if you get a call like this, hang up and call police to report the scam.
