LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Michigan Liquor Control Commission has issued more emergency suspensions of liquor licenses and permits for businesses. This time, none of them are in the West Michigan region.
Businesses shut down include food establishments in Mt. Pleasant, Plymouth, and in the town of Bitely in Newaygo County. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services says those in violation of orders on gatherings and wearing face masks include allowing non-residential indoor gatherings, providing indoor dining, exceeding limitations for outdoor dining, and failure to require face coverings for staff and patrons.
Since September 2020, the MLCC has suspended liquor licenses of a total of 37 establishments located throughout the state for violations of orders due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
