ANN ARBOR, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – University of Michigan quarterback Dylan McCaffrey is leaving the team and entering the NCAA transfer portal.
McCaffrey opted out of playing during the 2020 season. He has two years of eligibility left and as a graduate student, he will be able to play at his new school immediately.
The NCAA is placing Notre Dame football on probation for one year for recruiting violations. ESPN reports the two sides agreed that a former assistant coach had impermissible off-campus recruiting contact with a high school player in January 2019.
The Fighting Irish were also fined $5,000 and given other recruiting restrictions. The unnamed coach was fired back in January and was given a six-month show cause through July 20 by the NCAA.
