CHICAGO, IL (WKZO AM/FM) – The Detroit Red Wings played their first road game of the season on Friday night and lost in Chicago 4-1. The Blackhawks had built a 3-0 lead before Dylan Larkin scored for Detroit with 7:38 left in regulation.
Special teams were the big difference. Chicago went 2-5 on the power play and had a shorthanded goal. The Wings were 0-5 with the extra man.
Detroit is now 2-3. They will play the Hawks again on Sunday afternoon in Chicago.
