EAST LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Since the announcement Friday that high school winter contact sports would not start until February 21, the head of the state’s high school sports organization says that he is frustrated with the apparent lack data as to why the decision was made.
In an interview on a west Michigan talk show, MHSAA Executive Director Mark Uyl said that the state isn’t providing any guidance into how or why the sports have been delayed, how schools can get ready to resume practices and events, or why they have no input in the decisions that are being made.
Uyl stated that the MHSAA would welcome a chance to provide input to help develop a plan to resume activities.
