ZEELAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Police were called to a cow-and-car crash at 3:30 a.m. Friday, in Ottawa County’s Zeeland Township.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies with Zeeland City Police and the Ottawa County Road Commission crews were called to of Chicago Drive near 76th Avenue in Zeeland Township after several motorists who had struck cows that had gotten loose and wandered into the road, according to Sheriff’s Sgt. Chris Dill.
Police found eight cows were in the westbound lanes of Chicago Drive of which three dead after a vehicle hit them. The driver in that case wasn’t hurt, but the vehicle had significant front end damage
Chicago Drive was closed for over 90 minutes as the cows were returned to their farm pens and secured, police said.
