LANSING (WKZO AM/FM) – Hundreds of high school sports participants, parents, and administrators gathered in Lansing Saturday to urge Governor Whitmer to allow winter sports to start back up on Monday, when restaurants re-open across the state with restrictions.
The “Let Them Play” rally took place on the Capitol lawn, with speakers and signs urging the Governor to allow practices and games to re-start before the current date of February 21st.
Officials with the MHSAA released a statement Friday that agreed with the group’s request that winter sports be allowed to begin earlier.
