WASHINGTON DC (WKZO AM/FM) – A bipartisan effort in Congress has begun to address the PFAS crisis in the state.
US Representatives Fred Upton, Debbie Dingell, Peter Meijer, Dan Kildee, and Haley Stevens are now members of the PFAS Task Force, which will outline plans to combat the crisis.
The task force has already sent a letter to President Biden’s administration that calls for a national drinking water standard, and a mandate that polluters, not taxpayers, pay for the cleanup.
The state is currently running a five-year study on the effects of PFAS in the drinking water near Parchment and Rockford.
