COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – With the bitter cold temperatures expected to extend into at least next week and wind chills forecast to be near 15 degrees below zero on Sunday night and Monday morning, the Coach Floyd Eby Youth and Family Center is extending their Emergency Warming Center.
They are still in need of volunteers to cover overnights and throughout the day especially this weekend and Monday.
Volunteers can call the center at (517) 278-5031 or message their Facebook page to schedule days and times to volunteer.
No amount of time is to small.
PPE protocols will be followed and the Coach Eby Center has installed an air filtration system.
The warming center will be open 24 hours a day and run until the temperatures become more favorable.
Duties for volunteers include assisting in the signing in of guests, checking temperatures and serving lunch and dinner.
