COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch Intermediate School District Superintendent Kris Jenkins told the district’s Board of Education on Wednesday that the county wide school calendar for 2021-2022 is still being worked on but it’s hoped it would be ready for next month’s board meeting.
The first day of classes would be on August 23. There would be three days of professional development for teachers on August 17, 18 and 19.
Jenkins said the only thing the districts don’t have settled yet is when the first semester will end.
She said while it would be great to end it before Christmas break, it would mean the first semester would last 80 days while the second semester would be 100 days.
In other business, the board approved the extension of all administrative contracts. Jenkins said there were no areas of concerns and they all exceeded job performance expectations.
