HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Allegan County health officials issued an alert about a COVID-19 incident, rea on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2021, an individual ate at Marlena’s Bistro and Pizzeria located at 909 Lincoln Ave. in Holland. Within 48 hours, this individual became symptomatic then tested positive for COVID-19. ACHD was informed on March 3 through case investigation.
Anyone at Marlena’s Bistro and Pizzeria between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday Feb. 27, may be have been exposed to COVID-19, because the restaurant has been found violating mask and social distancing requirements. Anyone potentially exposed should monitor themselves for COVID-19 symptoms.
COVID-19 is thought to spread mainly through close contact from person to person, including between people who are physically near each other (within about 6 feet). People who are infected but do not show symptoms can also spread the virus to others. There are three important ways to slow the spread of COVID-19: wearing a face mask, staying at least 6 feet away from those not in your household, and avoiding crowds.
Symptoms of COVID-19 include cough, fever, difficulty breathing, loss of smell or taste, and fatigue. If these symptoms are new or worsening, individuals should speak with their healthcare provider and seek a test for COVID-19. Tests for COVID-19 can be located using the Michigan Department of Health and Human Service’s (MDHHS) test site locator at www.michigan.gov/coronavirustest.
Anyone who thinks they may have COVID-19 should isolate themselves and get tested as soon as possible, health officials say.
People can get free COVID-19 tests from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2021, at the Allegan County Transportation Building, 750 Airway Drive in teh City of Allegan.
