TAMPA, FL (WKZO AM/FM) – The Detroit Tigers and the New York Yankees played to a 1-1 tie on Friday in a Grapefruit League game stopped after nine innings.
Matthew Boyd started for the Tigers. He walked two batters and struck out one in two innings of work. Tyler Alexander surrendered the only run for the Yanks. Danny Woodrow drove in the only run for Detroit in the eighth inning.
The Tigers face the Baltimore Orioles tonight in Sarasota.
