ALLEN PARK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Detroit Lions will reportedly release back-up quarterback Chase Daniel and defensive tackle Danny Shelton as the team continues to make roster changes.
The NFL Network reported the moves yesterday, which will clear six-point-three-million-dollars in cap space.
Detroit has also cut cornerback Justin Coleman, guard Joe Dahl, tight end Jesse James, and linebacker Christian Jones.
The Lions are bringing in former Green Bay Packers running back Jamaal Williams for the next two seasons. The NFL Network reports Williams has signed a $7.5 million dollar deal following four years with Green Bay. He will join D’Andre Swift and Kerryon Johnson in the backfield.
