DEARBORN, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Gas prices in Michigan have dropped six cents on average compared to a week ago.
AAA says Michigan drivers are now paying an average of $2.75 per gallon for regular unleaded. The price is 11 cents more than this time last month and 87 cents more than this time last year.
High crude prices and growing refinery utilization contributed to national gas price increases last week. However, increased gasoline stocks and a decrease in demand helped to slow the rate at which prices have increased.
“Thanks to a decrease in crude prices, coupled with increased gasoline stocks and lower demand, Michigan motorists have seen a slight decrease in pump prices,” said Adrienne Woodland, spokesperson, AAA-The Auto Club Group.
She says if these trends continue, prices could hold steady through this week.
