MT. PLEASANT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Central Michigan University will name its new men’s basketball head coach today.
According to the Detroit Free Press, the school will announce they have hired Tony Barbee to take over the program. Barbee has been an assistant coach at Kentucky under John Calipari for the last seven years. He previously served as head coach of UTEP and Auburn.
Barbee would replace Keno Davis, who was fired earlier this month after leading the Chippewas for nine seasons.
