COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The latest statistics from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services shows the number of new COVID-19 cases reported in Branch County last week dropped by 21 percent compared to the previous week.
There were 87 new cases reported between April 25 and May 1 compared to 110 from April 18 until April 24.
While Branch County’s 11-point-7 percent positivity rate between April 24 and 30 dropped, it’s still above what state health officials want.
As of last Wednesday, 32 percent of all Branch County residents have been fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus.
Figures show that 61 percent of Branch County residents 65 and older have been fully vaccinated. That number drops to 38 percent for those between the ages of 50 and 64 and 16 percent for those who are between 16 and 49.
