COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Three Rivers man was arraigned Tuesday in Branch County District Court on three larceny charges in connection with the alleged theft of catalytic converters in Matteson Township between November 1 and December 23 of last year.
An habitual offender fourth offense notice has also been filed by prosecutors against 39-year-old Alexander Zuchnik whose criminal record goes back to 2014. According to court documents, he was previously convicted for uttering and publishing, forgery and being in possession of a controlled substance.
Authorities say all three of the alleged thefts took place from two vehicles at the same location on North Matteson Lake Road.
Zuchnik was one of two suspects listed in the case file. Both have been implicated in other crimes around the area.
Zuchnik was arrested following a Michigan State Police investigation. A personal recognizance bond was set at $25,000 and a no contact order was issued on behalf of the alleged victim.
