COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater Community Schools Superintendent Terry Ann Whelan has announced that they intend to have K-12 students in the district return to five days of face-to-face instruction starting on Monday, May 17 and continuing through the rest of the school year.
Whelan said, “we feel it is important to end this year with a sense of normalcy, to provide as much in person instruction as possible and to prepare for five days of face-to-face instruction in the fall.”
Whelan credits continued safety protocols and mitigation strategies as the reasons behind the move to five days of face to face instruction.
She adds that to provide maximum flexibility with minimal disruption in case they have to scale back again, the district will implement an early release schedule on May 19, May 26 and June 9.
Due to the shortened week for Memorial Day, there will be no early release on June 2.
Building principals will follow up with parents regarding times for early release.
