LANSING MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The state House has approved a measure that would limit the amounts of payouts given to state employees who are let go.
The bill has a provision that would allow a larger payout if the situation would reduce the state’s legal liability, and if details are made public knowledge.
The unanimous vote on the bill comes after criticism of the Governor’s decision to provide large payouts to the former heads of the health and unemployment departments.
The measure now heads to the state Senate.
