BOSTON, MA (WKZO AM/FM) – Jeimer Candelario hit a three-run homer in the 10th as the Detroit Tigers beat the Boston Red Sox 6-5 at Fenway Park.
Candelario finished 3-for-5 with three RBI in the win, snapping Detroit’s six-game losing streak. Gregory Soto got the win in relief as Michael Fulmer picked up the save, his first.
JD Martinez hit a two-run homer in the seventh, but it wasn’t enough as Boston dropped its fourth in six games. Garrett Whitlock took the loss out of the bullpen.
Spencer Turnbull gets the start for the Tigers, while the Red Sox send Nathan Eovaldi to the mound in this afternoon’s rubber game. The opening pitch is scheduled for 1:10 p.m.
