COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County Administrator Bud Norman told the 911 Communications Board on Wednesday that platforms and towers at three of the five sites that would be part of a $9.3 million Branch County 911 project will hopefully be in place by the end of the month.
Those towers will be in Union City, Bronson and Quincy.
The tower that would go in at the new Branch County Jail is scheduled to be ready by the end of June.
Snags have developed in recent weeks over the placement of the fifth tower which was originally scheduled to be put in at the site of the former Lakeland Elementary School south of Coldwater. Norman is hoping things can be worked out over the next month.
Issues concerning the fifth tower site were discussed later in a half hour closed session. No action was taken by the board when they came back into open session. The County and the Coldwater Community School District have been in negotiations over the Lakeland site.
The Branch County 911 project is designed to improve signals and communications for police, firefighters and rescue crews. Branch County voters approved a phone surcharge last November to help fund the project.

The schools refuse to negotiate in good faith and Dud Norman isn’t trustworthily at all. Taxpayers are gonna get double screwed outta this one.
