COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – For the second straight year, Coldwater’s River Through Time event which was scheduled to be held over the Memorial Day holiday weekend at Heritage Park, has been cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The cancellation until 2022 was announced on the event’s web site, www.riverthroughtime.com.
The information was also posted on the City of Coldwater’s web site.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 issues, organizers originally said this years event was going be as a simple encampment.
The annual Education Day which usually draws over 1,000 students from around the area had already been cancelled along with the train rides, horse drawn wagon rides and entertainers. No battles were planned as well.
The 2020 event was scrubbed because of the pandemic and the loss of too many jobs. The closing of businesses at this time last year caused the event’s funding to be severely impacted.
River Through Time is a non profit, charitable organization dedicated to teaching history through reenacting.
