DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – After a disappoint 2020-2021 campaign, the Detroit Red Wings are hoping for better success in the NHL Draft Lottery that will be held June 2, 2021.
The lottery will set the order of the first 16 picks in the 2021 draft. The Red Wings have 7.6 percent odds to secure the number one overall selection.
This year’s draft will be held July 23 and 24.
Craig Smith scored 5:48 into the second overtime to lift the Bruins to a 3-2 win over the Washington Capitals in Boston. Sebastian Aho netted a pair as the Carolina Hurricanes topped the Nashville Predators 3-0. Nathan MacKinnon had a hat trick as the Colorado Avalanche topped the St. Louis Blues 6-3. Dominic Toninato spearheaded a three-goal third for the Winnipeg Jets as they topped the Oilers 4-1 in Edmonton.
