DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Detroit Tigers late-inning rally fell short in a 6-5 loss to the Cleveland Indians last night.
Cleveland outfielder Jordan Luplow made a diving catch in the bottom of the ninth to preserve the win. The Indians earned their 15th come-from-behind victory thanks to rookie Owen Miller, whose first Major League hit led to him scoring the go-ahead run.
Spencer Turnbull did not figure in the decision in his first start after last week’s no-hitter. Willi Castro had a two-run homer and three RBI in Detroit’s third straight loss.
Tonight, Tarik Skubal gets the start for the Tigers, while the Indians counter with Aaron Civale. The opening pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m.
