BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – It’s a four-peat for Quincy. The Orioles swept Bronson 8-3 and 6-5 on Tuesday to claim the outright Big 8 Conference championship. It was the fourth straight conference title for the Orioles.
Quincy came from behind in both games.
They scored eight unanswered runs in the first game thanks to home runs by Cemara Paul, McKynna Connin and Morgan Michael.
Quincy rallied from a 4-1 deficit to take game two. They trailed 5-4 entering the bottom of the seventh but took advantage of two Bronson errors to pull out the victory. Payton Gross delivered a walk off bases loaded single to cap off an undefeated conference season for the Orioles.
Michael was the winning pitcher in both games. Dekoda Kline drove in two runs for Bronson in the second game while Helena Eley had three hits in the doubleheader.
Quincy is now 17-13 overall. Bronson drops to 23-10 overall and they finished 12-2 in the Big 8.
