EATON RAPIDS, MI (WTVB) – The girls high school soccer season ended for Coldwater last night, falling to Eaton Rapids 5-0 in the opening round of the Division Two districts.
The Greyhounds scored the opening goal halfway through the first half, then added the remaining four goals in the second half. Taylor Robison made 17 saves in goal, as Eaton Rapids outshot the Lady Cardinals 24-4.
Eaton Rapids advances to play the winner of tonight’s Charlotte-Parma Western matchup in the district semifinals next week.
Coldwater finishes the season at 5-12 overall, in the final game for the eight seniors on the 20 person varsity roster.
The game was also the final one for varsity coach Ken Delaney, who is retiring from the girls job after 12 years. He will remain as boys head coach, starting his 15th year in that position this fall.
