BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Two Branch County teams have pre-district games on Tuesday as plays begins in the M.H.S.A.A. Girls Softball Tournament.
Coldwater will face Pennfield in the Division Two Districts hosted by Harper Creek. The winner will advance to the district semifinals to face Vicksburg at noon on Saturday.
Quincy will face the host Homer Trojans in a Division Three pre-district game. The winner will advance to face Hillsdale at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
Union City and Bronson won’t see action in Division Three until Saturday.
All of the Branch County teams in Division Three are in separate districts.
Bronson is hosting a district tournament and the Vikings will face the winner of Tuesday’s game between Niles Brandywine and Centreville at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
Union City will take on Delton-Kellogg in the Climax-Scotts district semifinals at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Chargers will host Concord on Tuesday in their regular season finale.
All of the Branch County baseball teams won’t see district action until Saturday. After a rain out on Friday, Coldwater and Marshall will attempt once again on Tuesday to finish off a suspended game from April 19.
The game was stopped because of darkness nearly six weeks ago with the score tied 6-6 after four innings.
If Coldwater wins, they will get a share of the Interstate 8 title.
After the suspended game is completed, the Cardinals will come back to Pat Lowe Field to host Lakewood for a doubleheader starting at 4:00 p.m..
