COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – After being cancelled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 28th ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital Great Hospice Duck Race was held virtually this past Saturday.
Instead of dropping all of the rubber ducks into the Sauk River at Waterworks Park, a drawing was held to determine the winners of the over $14,000 in prizes that were given away.
Local merchants donated 24 prizes for this years event. The first prize of $2,021 in cash which was donated by Dutcher Funeral Home of Coldwater and Dutcher-Kolcz Funeral Home of Bronson was won by the Branch County Abstract and Title office.
The second prize, which is a week-long camping adventure donated by Haylett’s Auto & RV and Waffle Farm Campground, was won by Troy Davis.
The third prize of a Family Bronze Golf Membership Package that was donated by Coldwater Golf Course was won by Tobe Cleckner.
A complete list of winners can be found on the Great Hospice Duck Race Facebook page.
The goal of the Great Hospice Duck Race is to increase awareness of hospice and raise money to support Coldwater Regional Hospital’s hospice program.
All the proceeds from the event help cover the cost of care, supplies and medication for patients.
