Margaret Ann “Peggy” Bowersox, 85 of Bronson passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at Grand Vista Assisted Living under hospice care.
A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at Dutcher Funeral Home. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Lansing.

Margaret was born September 1, 1935 to Milton and Lelia (Coleman) Peterson in Lansing, MI. She was a high school graduate and a hardworking woman. Peggy spent 15 years as an accounts supervisor for Hamilton Insurance before retiring in 1991.
On December 17, 1956 she married the love of her life, Richard Bowersox, Sr. in Lansing. Richard was in the U.S. Air Force and stationed in France, where they lived for 5 years. They next moved to East Lansing while Richard graduated from Michigan State University. Work then took them to South Africa, Dearborn, MI, and New Jersey before moving back to Michigan.
Richard preceded her in death September 2, 2008.
Peggy was a woman of strong faith. She attended East Gilead Missionary Church, where she was very active in fundraising and also held a bible study class. Peggy was a talented painter, creating 100’s of painting over the years to give as gifts. She was musically inclined playing both the piano and later in life the guitar.
Peggy enjoyed traveling and had taken cruises to the Panama Canal and the Rhine River. She was adventurous, taking a 7 day canoe trip along the Fox River in the UP. Peggy loved lake living, especially having her grandkids over to go tubing and having 4th of July parties.
She will be remembered as being a very strong woman who faced life with a positive attitude.
Margaret is survived by her children Richard (Lisa) Bowersox, Jr. of Bronson, Randolph “Randy” Bowersox of Southfield, and Katherine (Robert “Bob”) Johnson of Birmingham; her sister-in-law Mary Peterson; her grandchildren Leslie (Caleb) Warner, Megan Bowersox, Amanda (Matthew) Shackelford, Jessica (Chris) Kennedy, Nichole (Kurt) Zube, and Tyler Bradley; 11 great grandchildren; and her lake friends Ed (Patti) Kopetz, Richard (Frieda) Neff, Bob (Donna) VanVleet, Russell (Jill) Siler, and Rocky (Linda) Custer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 51 years Richard Bowersox, Sr., her son Niles Bowersox, her daughter-in-law Michelle Bowersox, and her brothers John (Margie) Peterson and Ken Peterson.
