LAS VEGAS, NV – Pistons and Team USA forward Jerami Grant has been placed in COVID-19 protocol. The Athletic reported that while Grant has not tested positive for the virus, he is being monitored.
USA Basketball announced that Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal has also entered protocol and will not take part in the upcoming Tokyo Olympics.
The U.S. Men’s Basketball Team will not be playing its scheduled exhibition against Australia toay. According to The Athletic, the game has been canceled as the USA deals with players in health and safety protocols.
The US will instead close out the exhibition slate with a contest against Spain on Sunday. After that, they will head for Tokyo as they prepare for another run at the gold medal in the Olympics.
