UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – Eric Purple has joined the staff of Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation Service in Union City, where he will be responsible for advanced planning and operations management.
“I am really pleased Eric has become a part of our Lighthouse team,” said Lighthouse Owner/Manager Tate Goodwin. “His solid character and versatility make him a good fit for our small business model, where everyone has specific responsibilities, but is cross-trained and can step in and help in other areas where needed. We all wear many hats.”
Purple will be meeting with Lighthouse customers who are interested in funeral pre-planning, purchasing a monument, pet cremation or hall rental services.
The funeral and cremation business has experienced tremendous growth since opening in 2013. In addition to the Union City funeral home headquarters, Lighthouse also has chapels in Tekonsha and Athens that serve as multi-purpose event centers in those communities.
Purple hails from Custer, Michigan. For the past few years he and his wife have resided in Union City, where they are members of the Wesleyan Church.
“Coming from a hospitality background, it was a slight change of direction to start with Lighthouse, but it wasn’t a completely new role,” said Purple. “I was always hoping to find a job that allows me to have a better and more inclusive role in this awesome community. Being hospitable is treating people with respect and dignity. That’s exactly how I try to treat everyone I meet. I look forward to seeing everyone – and remember, I am here to help.”
