EAST LANSING, MI — Michigan State University athletic director Bill Beekman is resigning but will stay with the university. His final date on the job has not been announced.
Beekman had no athletic background experience when he was named AD in 2018 by interim MSU president John Engler. Beekman will now become vice president for strategic initiatives under president Samuel Stanley.
MSU will conduct a national search for Beekman’s replacement as athletic director.
