BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – Fernanda Lira fired a ten under 62 in the final round on Sunday to win the FireKeepers Casino and Hotel women’s golf tournament at the Battle Creek Country Club.
The native of Mexico City won by six shots for her first victory on the Symetra Tour.
She had rounds of 70, 65 and 62 for a three round score of nineteen under, 197.
Lira was in fourth place entering the final round.
Her round on the par 72 course included ten birdies and no bogeys.
Second round leader Isi Gabsa along with Lilia Vu, Sophia Schubert and Daniela Iacobelli tied for second at 13 under par. Vu had a nine under 63 on Sunday.
