DETROIT, MI — Former Michigan State University basketball star Keith Appling will go on trial for murdering his cousin. The 29-year-old is accused of shooting and killing 66-year-old Clyde Edmonds in May.
On Monday, District Court Judge Roberta Archer ruled yesterday there is enough evidence to send Appling to trial.
Prosecutors this week called the killing “cold blooded” and said the two were not fighting or arguing prior to the shooting. Edmonds was shot five times, with four of the shots in his back.
